When you know that you are going to becoming mother, this is great news for you. Getting pregnant and becoming mother is the basic instinct of every woman. Getting pregnant and being mom brings loads of joy, it is also accompanied by several concerns. Concerns increases due to delayed pregnancies. Today we’ll have a closer look at the potential pitfalls in pregnancy during 30s and 40s.

The child bearing age has seen a phenomenal change with more women are getting married in their 30s and postponing their pregnancy to late 30s or 40s. An expert have said that age is a vital factor in fertility and chances of getting pregnant decline with advancing years as women in 30s ovulate less frequently. Post 30s the age related index tends to go down, which may lower the possibility of conception. Every girl is born with a finite number of eggs in the ovary is called the ovarian reserve. As the women ages her ovarian reserve gets depleted, which makes it harder to conceive naturally


However if you are medically fit, you can modify the course of pregnancy at any stage. Hence regular health check-ups, preparing your body with regular exercise and a healthy diet is most important during pregnancy at any age.

Risk factors of late pregnancies-

Difficulty in conception, frequent miscarriages, pregnancy complications like Abruption placenta (bleeding), gestational diabetes, hypertension during delivery, premature labor, birth defects, e.t.c are some of the risk factors that are likely to show up in the pregnancies in late 30s or 40s.
