Infertility is very common problem these days. In fact
you can find four women infertile out of ten. Infertility is the inability to
conceive after a year of regular and unsafe intercourse. Infertility in women
may describe as unable to conceive naturally as well as being unable to carry
pregnancy to full term.
Infertility may happen due to many causes. There are
some common causes are listed below:-
- Ovulation problem (PCOS)
- Tubal blockage
- Age related factors
- Uterine problems
- Endometriosis
- Advanced maternal age
- Pelvic inflammatory diseases
- Obesity
Obesity decreases the rates of successful pregnancy
in natural conception cycles but in many cases infertility may occur in male
partner so that female partner could not conceive. There is the most common
infertility factor in male is Low Sperm Count. Causes of male
infertility are endocrine problems, drugs, radiation, infection or the most
common obesity.
Obesity is the most common factor for much type of
diseases these days. It’s an increasing common cause for the infertility in men
or women. A recent talk with registered dietician has highlighted how
infertility and PCOS is believe to be directly associated with obesity. A
study showed that approximately 34% of young women (average age of 23 years)
struggles to get pregnant just because of infertility and issues are linked to
obesity.
Obesity not only makes it much more difficult to
conceive, but it also exposes both the mother and the infant to all manner of
risks before and after birth. Fertility can be restored if women are able to
achieve weight loss. The most important reason for not getting pregnant for
obesity is likely to cause insulin resistance that is linked to failure of
women to produce the eggs from ovary.
The British Fertility Society recommends that,
“Women who are obese and trying to get pregnant must initiate a weight
reduction program and those severely overweight should not receive fertility treatment
until their weight has reduced to normal. Obese men show low estrogen and low testosterone levels as well.
However, infertility may be in men or women but if
you are overweight or obese, you need to make your weight normal to enjoy your
parenthood.
